In summer 2012 NatLaw welcomed Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild to the Center to meet the staff and learn more about the Center’s projects. The visit was part of his 360 Plan to promote Tucson as a location for headquarters, logistics and other operations for U.S. and multinational companies doing business in Mexico.
With the support of USAID Mexico, during the week of October 15, 2012, the NLCIFT team traveled to Mexico to conduct a 4-day training for the Public Defenders of Guanajuato on Oral Trials for Commercial Matters. Approximately 40 people were in attendance.
In September 2010 NLCIFT Director Boris Kozolchyk and Secured Transaction Project Coordinator Marek Dubovec were invited to comment by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for their 3rd Quarter Newsletter EconSouth on the topic of secured transaction reform.
NatLaw was recently pleased to host Luis Plata for an afternoon of discussion with our staff and guests about Doing Business in Colombia. The event was well attended by various individuals in the Tucson community and from the University of Arizona Law School. NatLaw would like to thank Dr. Paul Melendez from the Eller College at the University of Arizona for his help coordinating the visit.
With the support of USAID Mexico, the NLCIFT traveled to Mexico City to participate in a Symposium on Alternative Dispute Resolution with the NAFTA 2022 Committee and the Federal Judicial Training Institute. There were over 150 individuals present and over 700 that logged on to watch the Symposium live!
