The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum held a secured transactions workshop in Mexico City from March 21-22, 2018, entitled “Best Practices for Dynamic Business Growth.” The workshop featured speakers from the public and private sector, including government officials and World Bank Group specialists. Dr. Dubovec delivered a presentation on coordinating secured transactions reforms with reform initiatives undertaken by institutions like the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), and the United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade. Dr. Kozolchyk’s presentation focused on the status of secured transactions reforms in the APEC region, highlighting shared challenges and individual economy successes. The event was attended by stakeholders from several APEC economies. NatLaw’s Supervising Research Attorney, Mr. Adalberto Elias, was also present.
