NORTH AMERICAN STANDARD TRANSPORTATION PRACTICES (NASTRAPS)

Editor: Gary T. Doyle, Esq.
Publisher: National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade (softcover)
Languages: English
Publication Date: April 1998
Pages: 65
Price: $50.00

Under the auspices of the Center, a group of representatives from all sectors of the motor transportation industry - shippers, carriers, customs brokers, and insurance companies - gathered to identify and select rules and recommendations pertaining to every aspect of freight transportation. NASTRAPS is the culmination of these efforts by the North American Committee on Surface Transportation Law and Practice.

The practices are covered in three stages: preshipment, in-transit, and post-delivery. A sample North American uniform bill of lading is included, as are a trilingual glossary of terms and sections on application and sources of law.

NASTRAPS may serve as the basis of a contract between a shipper and carrier, as a company service guide or manual, and to resolve shipper-carrier disputes. Indispensable for companies transporting goods between the NAFTA countries.
